How I support Military MBA Applicants with my Editing

The biggest challenge I face while working with Military applicants is persuading them that they can compete with peers who have combat experiences.

It is the single biggest advantage for military MBA applicants.

But you will be surprised to know the number of applicants who managed to get an interview despite limited exposure to combat.

This is the new reality in a post-Iraq, post-Afghanistan world.

Beyond combat experience, the military is a complex ecosystem of chain of commands, technological adaptation, asset management, and strategic thinking driven by geo-political developments ;  experiences and traits that are highly valued in a corporate world.

Highlighting the right number of military and corporate traits is essential to stand out from the crowd.

The balance is what an Editor like me with 15+ years of experience can offer.

I have seen it all.

The Military applicant hesitating to reach out to superiors and add that complementing experience only a supervisor can offer through recommendation letters.

The Military applicant shying away from explaining their biggest challenge.

The Military applicant wondering whether to include the brutality of an experience.

There is no one template to answer the questions.
